Description

I don't pride myself on my photography skills, but I felt this needed to be posted.
I'm very proud of this picture.
I think it is mostly because of the emotions attached. The canoe trip that this was from was amazingly fun.

The camera I used has a decidedly "70s" look to it... probably because it is from the 70s, but I think that lends to this picture. The grainy and gritty look pleases me, and I made minimal effort to cover it up [a tiny enough gaussian blur to not take any sharpness from the pine cones]. Since I used a photoscanner to develop it myself I even left the sides of the negative in as a sort of frame to perpetuate that good ol' 70s feel.

What else can be said?

Oh, the guy on the far-right was buried underneath 2-3 feet of sand later that day on the same beach.

This is definitely worth the post. The composition is great, and I love how the border interacts so naturally with the image. This is good stuff my friend.
